Members of the Deposit Servicing Representative team support the Retail Banking Branches, Direct Banking Center and BankNewport customers by performing Production and Quality & Control functions.Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers.Fully supports the Bank’s “Set your Sales” initiative. Utilize support staff training to consistently provide sales support to all departments. Understand the departments support metrics and continue to improve bank efficiencies.Assists with the maintenance of customer information files (CIF)Refers more complex accounts to specialist for CIF reviewVerifies new account documentation (Demand Deposit & Time Deposit)Verifies account change and renewal documentation (Demand Deposit & Time Deposit)Verifies account maintenance documents and reportsEnsures proper documentation of missing tax identification numbersVerifies and/or reviews various operational and production reportsAssists with the processing of end of year tax documentsReporting escheatable funds and/or property to the State of RI in accordance with RI regulationProperly handles returned mail including statements, checks, and debit cardsResponds to load errors and rejected items by required deadlineProcesses checks returned from the Federal Reserve Bank within established timeframesReviews stop payments for accuracyReviews items presented against dormant accounts to ensure they are authorizedPrepares correspondence to customers with dormant accounts in order to maintain proper oversight of transaction activityResponds to stop payment items in InsightPrepares and prints reports for various areas within the bankEnsures proper IOLTA accounts interest is remitted to the RI Bar AssociationAssists with research requests, legal directive and subpoenasCompletes verifications of depositPerforms daily branch image capture balancing and related item processingRemits foreign checks for paymentReviews International ACH Payments daily for SDN matchingReviews and approves items processed via the Bank’s mobile remote deposit capture systemPerforms necessary adjustments received through FedLine and Eastern BankScans and indexes documentsFiles documents retained in paper formatVerifies that all miscellaneous documents are scanned and enters any missing dataAssists with ad hoc projects as directed by the Deposit Servicing Supervisor and department specialistsSUPERVISORY SCOPE:No supervisory responsibility INDEPENDENT ACTION:Performs work independently, within established guidelines and practices. Consults with manager regarding policy interpretation or exceptions.
