Advisor/Curriculum Specialist Upward Bound - Phil Campbell Project (Grant Funded) Salary: Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Community College System's Salary Schedule E3-4 ($39,759 - $57,251). **Deadline to apply: October 30, 2025.** **Employment start date is approximately November 2025** Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Assist with program services and activities to ensure that project objectives are metin accordance with proposedtimelines. - Establish and maintain rapport with school counselors, tutors, and other key personnel at target schools. - Identify,recruit,screen and recommend participants who meet eligibility requirements in grades9-12at targetschools. - Attend tutoring sessions and conduct regular school visits two times per month during the academic year to provide academic advising and career counseling to participants in both individualandgroupsettingstoensurethatgoalsofprogramcurriculumare met. - Guide participants in the development of an individualized educational plan based on student needs, postsecondary goals, and academic performance. Track academic progress toward completion of high school and program curriculum providing program manager with regular reports regarding student outcomes and status. - Update and maintain database of participant records which may include, but is not limited to, grades, test scores, services received, and eligibility documentation. - Provide relevant grade levelcollegeplanning,financialaid,scholarship,andcareer information to Upward Boundparticipants and their parents. - Assisthigh school seniors in selecting academic majors, identifying postsecondary schools, completing the FAFSA and applications for admissions, and scholarships. Provide students support as they transition to postsecondary education andfollow-up as the student begins their first year of college. - Coordinate contacts and make referrals to Student Support Services, academic advising, adaptive services, and other relevant departments. - Monitor UB alumni postsecondary outcomes through outreach and National Student Clearinghouse review. - AssistinthecoordinationandimplementationoftheSummerComponent. Place participants in appropriate classes to meet curriculumobjectives and complete related course registration documentation. Meet with students weekly during the summer component to track academic progress and make referrals. - Maintainalibraryofinformation toensurecoverageofprogramcurriculum during academic year and summerComponents. Utilize Blackboard, social media, and other communication platforms available to share content and update participants. - Assistwiththeidentification,employment,training, and oversightofprofessional tutors, summer staff, and other project personnel asneeded. - Maintain a library of postsecondary institutions' catalogs, financial aid reports,collegeadmissionsrequirementsandcareerdevelopmentmaterials for use by theprogram. - Plan and participate in academic year and summer componenton- and off-campusworkshops,collegevisits,and day or overnightcultural/educationaltrips with program staff. - Collect and prepare data for the Annual PerformanceReport and other periodic reports as needed. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, r**equired.** - Minimum one-year experience working with socially, economically, culturally, and/or academically disadvantage youth,**required.** - Trio experience, preferred. - Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred. - Teaching experience,preferred. - Personal or professional experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the target population, preferred.
