It features a 4-bed TraumaBay, 55 general ED beds, and a busy triage area, supported byspecialized staffing including dedicated Arena Teams (4 RNs, 2 Techs, 1Paramedic) and Trauma teams (4 RNs, 1 Tech, 1 Paramedic).Nursing-to-patient ratios are thoughtfully adjusted based on care areasto ensure optimal patient outcomes in this dynamic, high-acuityenvironment. The RegisteredNurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning,implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group ofpatients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstratescompetency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. TheStaff RN-Inpatient job description has incorporated essential functionswhich are adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice,2nd Edition (2010). EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Clinical competence andexperience in the care and management of target patient populationsspecific to area of employment. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Professionalknowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquiredthrough completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing inorder to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.Upon hire any non-BSN nurse with less than one year of licensedregistered nurse experience will be required to enroll in a BSN (orhigher nursing degree) program. Acceptance into a program is expectedwithin 15 months of hire and the degree program must be completed within5 years of enrollment, or 6 years if program is MSN, DNP or PhD inNursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. LICENSUREDESCRIPTION: Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered NurseLicense or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state inthe NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA)Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approvedequivalent is required within 90 days of hire. American HeartAssociation (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is requiredwithin 6 months of hire. Trauma Nurse course certification (TNCC) isrequired within one year of hire. American Heart Association (AHA)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within 1 year ofhire. For incumbents in this role prior to 6/1/2023 must be obtain PALsby 6/30/2024.
