We bring financial context into the picture when partnering with the lines of business, senior and executive management, and our board of directors.The opportunity:The Finance Analyst is critical member of the Covington Mill finance team, partnering directly with the business and finance leaders to provide analytical support and drive results. This individual will be an integral part of the finance team and will work closely with other departments, division and corporate staff to provide data and analysis of overall mill operations.This is an opportunity to join a global organization and gain an understanding of the inner workings that helps the company succeed. This position will sit on-site at our Covington Mill. In office 5 days a week.How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:Partner with operations teams to identify cost drivers and process bottlenecks, translating operational data into financial insights for executive decision-making.Collaborates with Mill Operations & Finance teams to build reliable cost and statistical performance data, enable benchmarking, trend analysis and predictive modeling.Enhance/generate reporting templates, standard operating processes and workflows to drive transparency, real-time reporting and strategic decision making across Finance and the millsAssist in the development and documentation of processes and procedures to improve the quality of financial analysis and drive stronger ownership and accountability of results.Support the monthly closing process by gathering and analyzing data required for journal entries, statistical postings and account reconciliations.Assist with financial budget and forecasting cycles.Develop and maintain documentation of internal controls applicable to the assigned functional areas.What you need to succeed:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Advanced skills in Excel, Hyperion SmartView experience a plus.Proficient user of Alteryx, Power BI, Qlik a plus.Detailed oriented team player who can consistently meet deadlines, adapt quickly, work well with all levels of the organization and possess the ability to work independently as needed.Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a continuously changing environment.What we offer:Corporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability, and prehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunities.An attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies, and potential.A career with a global packaging company where Sustainability, Safety, and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily work.
