This role executes human resource initiatives, provides internal customer support, and drives functional excellence and process improvement. The human resources manager leads associate investigations and partners with key leadership, as appropriate, to counsel associates through challenging situations by applying comprehensive knowledge and human resource policies and procedures. Primary Responsibilities and Objectives: u00b7 Ability to understand business objectives and recommend both established and new approaches to reinforce policies and procedures u00b7 Manage complex associate relations cases by leveraging the expertise of outside counsel, in addition to collaborating with leadership to determine the efficacy of the outcome u00b7 Proactively assess all associate relations cases for risk and consistency u00b7 Analyze moderate to complex investigations in a variety of matters, including violation of organizational policies or procedures, perceived unfair treatment, and unlawful workplace activity u00b7 Partner with 3rd party unemployment supplier to compile all relevant documentation regarding an associateu2019s departure from the company u00b7 When applicable, represent the organization in unemployment hearings and court cases u00b7 Ability to successfully monitor the pulse of the associates to ensure a high level of engagement u00b7 Develop strong relationships with peers and leadership to develop solutions and efficiencies, collaborate and share best practices, and escalate issues appropriately to support leadership needs u00b7 Support associates and leadership through the performance evaluation process and training and development u00b7 Stay abreast of all federal, state, and local employment and industry-specific laws as it pertains to the Avenue5 workforce u00b7 Perform other duties as assigned Education and Experience: u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree is required u00b7 Five or more years of experience in human resources is required u00b7 Three to five years of experience in multi-family property management is preferred u00b7 Certification in human resources (HRCI or SHRM) is preferred u00b7 Three to five years of direct management experience is preferred u00b7 Five or more years of experience in managing, expanding, and developing relationships with clients at a senior level is required u00b7 Participation in industry groups is preferred Skills and Requirements: u00b7 Comfortable with a high-volume workload and solution-focused u00b7 Strong understanding of human resource industry trends, issues, and emerging technology u00b7 Track record of accomplishments and high-impact results u00b7 Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment u00b7 u00b7 Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (including Excel functions) u00b7 Ability to meet deadlines u00b7 Ability to create a climate in which associates want to do their best by leading and communicating a shared vision with associates and providing coaching and development u00b7 Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment u00b7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills u00b7 Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses if assigned Scheduling: u00b7 Required to maintain a regular schedule which may also require working outside of regular schedule, weekends, and non-traditional holidays u00b7 Ability to travel (including overnight) up to 5% Environment: u00b7 Exposure to an environment typically found in an office building Physical Requirements: Avenue5 will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
