The Trainer performs oversight and administrative work in coordinating, planning and implementation related activities, training and work within the Department. Work involves performing training for all new hires; regular training and retraining for transit employees; developing and/or updating training programs and related procedures; recommending improvements in the operation, safety and efficiency of the system and monitoring aspects of employee work and performance. Reports to the Operations Manager.Minimum Requirements:High School diploma, vocational/technical diploma; or equivalent training and experience. A minimum of three (3) years of transit experience required; or equivalent education, and/or experience.A minimum of one (1) year of management, supervisory and/or training experience preferred. Must possess a valid Virginia Class B Commercial Drivers License with passenger and air brake endorsement.Proficiency in using computer systems and the software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential (ex. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, RouteMatchSpecial Requirements:This position is classified as essential personnel.Must be able to pass DOT physical examination.Must be able to work flexible hours on various days of the week.
