This posting is for a position which will oversee the RTE (pack-out) end of the L5 operation. Under the direction of the Assistant Plant Manager and in conjunction with the Team Leader and Production Assistant, the Area Leader is responsible foroverseeing their respective area throughout the shift andfacilitatingthe shift turn-over with the oncoming Area Leader. The position mustoperatein accordance withplant and company policies and procedures and requires excellent attendance, a thorough understanding of all production and sanitation procedures, quality and food safety policies, and a comprehensive knowledge of all production positions within the area of responsibility. This position also works closely with maintenance, quality, sanitation, and other production personnel to troubleshoot problems whilemaintainingthe efficient production ofa safe, quality food. This position is being hired for Crew C and will work 6:45am to 7pm.Provide support to the area of responsibility and act in a leadership capacity through a demonstrated knowledge/proficiency of all associated positionsCommunicate effectively with all team members, including those outside of the area of responsibility, to provide direction and structure to production personnelServe in a leadership role to facilitate smooth and efficient operation in the area of responsibility, while keeping personnel and food safety at the forefrontProvide feedback and report problems to the Team Leader, Production Assistant, and Plant Management. Aid in implementation of corrective and preventive action for identified problemsCoach new and current employees on company policies and standard operating procedures by providing individual trainingUnderstand, enforce, and abide byJoy Cone’s GMP, food safety, food quality, allergen control, and personnel safetypoliciesConduct production, sanitation, and quality checks per procedure, report deviations to management as they occur, and take appropriate corrective actionOther duties as assigned by supervisorMust be able to properly prioritize work responsibilities within assigned work areaExcellent attendancerequired, which includes expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absencesMust be willing to attend safety, food safety, sanitation, and/or leadership trainings as offered/assigned by supervisorIdentifyand accurately report defective materials, food safety hazards, and potential product contaminantsAbility to read, analyze and follow directionsMust be able to speak, listen and openly communicate with team members and activelyparticipatein team meetingsAbility to apply formulas and mathematical concepts and to use them in a production settingAbility to define problems, collect data,establishfactsand draw a valid conclusionLift upto 50 lbs. on an occasional basisStoop, kneel,climbor squat on an occasional basisPossess manual dexterity & use hands to grip, pinch, handle, reach, or feel on a frequent basisStand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basisAble to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per dayMust be able to work in a scissor lift at elevated heights occasionallyHigh school diploma or equivalent.Working knowledge of the following computer software: Microsoft Office, AS400
