Utah State University Eastern, a member of the NJCAA, SWAC / Region 18, and is seeking a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer to support its growing athletic department. This individual will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive athletic training services to a diverse group of student-athletes. USU Eastern supports a wide range of varsity programs including: Women's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Cheer, Dance, Mountain Biking, Archery, and Rodeo.Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Athletic Trainer will assist in the operation of an in-house sports medicine department. Responsibilities include injury prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and healthcare administration. The position will also support the mentorship and supervision of student athletic trainers and interns, contribute to fostering a positive and professional environment, and act as a key liaison between athletes, coaches, physicians, and other members of the sports medicine team.Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background checkProvide athletic training services for assigned teams during practices and competitions, including first aid, injury assessment, and acute care.Make appropriate physician referrals following evaluation of injuries.Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and documentation of all assessments, treatments, and referrals.Assist in the daily operation and cleanliness of the athletic training facility, ensuring professional standards are upheld.Coordinate and communicate effectively with coaches, administrators, athletes, and medical providers.There may be opportunities to travel with teams, if deemed necessary.Monitor injury recovery progress and ensure athletes meet return-to-play criteria in accordance with best practices and physician directives.Support and supervise student athletic trainers and potential interns.Instruct KIN 2710 - Introduction to Athletic Training.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer or Athletic Director.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree from a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training program.Board of Certification (BOC) credential.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.Eligible for athletic training licensure in the state of Utah.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and diverse environment.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree from a CAATE-accredited program.One or more years of experience working in collegiate athletics, particularly NJCAA or similar-level institutions.Along with the online application, please attach:1.
