Description Our client, a preeminent law firm based in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Litigation Attorney for our general litigation team. Practice areas will include defense of a variety of personal injury and other tort claims, including auto, premises, products liability and municipal matters. About the role: Litigation Associate u2013 Insurance Defense We are seeking a motivated Litigation Associate with a focus on insurance defense to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, labor law, and asbestos litigation. As a Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of litigation, including court appearances, motion practice, depositions, discovery, client reporting, and trial preparation. You will work closely with partners and senior attorneys on a variety of complex matters and represent clients in both state and federal courts. Responsibilities: + Manage a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution + Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment and discovery motions + Conduct and defend depositions, including expert and fact witnesses + Prepare pleadings, discovery demands and responses, and legal correspondence + Attend court conferences, hearings, arbitrations, and trials + Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel + Provide thorough analysis and timely reporting to clients and carriers + Collaborate with partners and other team members on case strategy and client needs Requirements Qualifications: u2022 Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school u2022 Admitted to practice in New York (additional admissions a plus) u2022 Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, with an emphasis in insurance defense u2022 Experience in labor law, asbestos litigation, and general liability matters strongly preferred u2022 Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
