The duties include preparing course and unit outlines, lesson plans, educational progress reports, individual education plans, and acting as advisor to student groups and organizations.Requirements for Continued Employment: Possession of a permanent/professional or provisional/ initial New York State certificate in Students with Disabilities/Special Education is necessary for continued employment. Loss of certification will result in termination of employment. Minimum Qualifications Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center is recruiting Substitute Teachers for the 2025 u2013 2026 school year. Substitute Teachers provide classroom coverage and support to the educational instruction provided to individuals with mental illness.Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement u2013 Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they meet any of the following:Teacher 2 u2013 Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.Teacher 3 u2013 Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.Teacher 4 - Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and 2 years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.
