Under direct supervision, perform a variety of tasks related to daily lab operations and productionPerform department tasks including one or more of the following:Perform most functions of an Optical Technician (Level 1)Inventory control functions including assist with stocking lens shelves, sort and distribute trays, pull semi-finished or finished lenses, and perform cosmetic inspection and restockLens stocking including print and tray up jobs off the combos, pull lenses & transcribe digital jobs through the lab management system, stage work in designated areas, and assist with lens stocking and inventoryOperates the automatic taperTints edged and uncut lensesExpeditor functions including flagging work to movePre-shipping wash-up functions including providing needed masks/cloths as neededAssist in efficiently moving work through the departmentMaintain company safety standardsMaintain a clean workstationAssist and cooperate with other departmentsEnsure understanding and adherence to quality management and safety requirements, systems and proceduresOther duties as assignedJob SpecificationsTypically has the following skills and abilities:Experience working in a fast-paced environmentOne to two years of manufacturing, production, or optical tech experienceDemonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the functions of an Optical Technician (Level 1)Must be able to work any shift, time, and dayAbility to meet department standards for productivity and qualityAbility to communicate at a level necessary to accomplish the above tasksGood manual dexterity and hand/eye coordinationAbility to perform physical activities requiring bending, kneeling and pulling/pushingAbility to recognize and distinguish colorsAbility to understand and follow proceduresAbility to lift up to 30 poundsAbility to walk or stand up to 100% of the time#LI-OPTICSCompensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. As a part of the compensation package, this role may include eligible bonuses and commissions.
