Join UChicago Medicine at Crown Point as a Dual Technologist (CT/Xray) in the Imaging Department!As a Dual Technologist (CT/Xray) you will participate in the operation of providing CT and x-ray services as a multifunctional technologist to both inpatients and outpatients of all ages. You will work closely with the ED/IP team of the microhospital and participates in patient care support activities. You will participate in ACR Accreditation process and in maintaining ACR standards for CT. You will participate in Radiologic Services Quality Assurance Committee with applicable indicators submitted as scheduled, and participate in hospital based TQM/CQI activities as requestedSTEWARDSHIP• Ensures that each patient order is completed as ordered• Maintains attendance and tardiness according to hospital standards• Ensure proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and Par levels meet facility needsCOMPASSION• Demonstrates a positive, supportive attitude to physicians, patients, families and other personnel consistently, and in emergency and non-emergency situations• Ensures comfort and safety of patients with in the department at all timesCLINICAL EXCELLENCE• Perform imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, collaborating with physician to evaluate images and report abnormalities immediately• Ensure imaging equipment is adjusted and maintained appropriately• Ensures the performance of daily quality control on instrumentation per department protocol.• Maintain all records and documentation as required by personnel for DNV Inspections.• Obtains a complete history from the patient and/or chart prior to implementing procedures.• Performs imaging operations on assigned patients to obtain optimum exams• Documents tests, procedures, to be performed on chart, and communicates this to appropriate person, and follows through to assure orders are completed with no documented errors noted.• Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with production and quality standards.• Administer contrast media as required• Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring procedure is appropriate based upon medical historySERVICE EXCELLENCE• Ensures the explanation of procedures and protocols are given to patients and significant others within 5 minutes of patient's entering the department for all patient exams.• Ensures the performance of the imaging process on the appropriate patient, following established procedures, and as prescribed by the physician.• Monitors studies for proper and adequate labeling, marking and history for all patient treatments.• Preserves patient dignity, privacy and modesty following all HIPPA guidelines at all times• Provide basic bedside care and provide assistance and supportive patient care under the direct supervision of the physician or RN, anticipating customer needs and responding accordingly as evidenced by satisfaction surveys and individual reports• Assist in initiating care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures• Accurately and concisely documents services provided within the medical record in a timely mannerINNOVATION• Attends seminars to enhance leadership and technical skills• Formulates written goals and objectives, and reviews annually with manager• Seeks education and learning experience in areas of identified growth needs and review progress during annual evaluationQualifications:Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and maintains certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in both CT and X-Ray. Retains an active Radiography accreditation with the Indiana Department of Nuclear Safety.2+ years general radiology imaging experience1+ year experience with CTMust successfully complete and maintain CPR certification.ARRT (R).
