Associate’s degree in a related field or the equivalent is required. In addition, a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience is required. J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required. With dedication and precision, the Advanced Quality Technician will determine requirement compliance of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic parts and materials through visual inspection, electrical or mechanical screening and physical measurements. Working directly with project engineering and QA, you’ll develop part testing and screening requirements, configure electrical component test set-ups, fabricate electrical test fixtures, write programs for automated test systems and perform part screening tests such as Solderability, Hermeticity, and PIND. **THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION**As a Quality Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards before they are delivered to our customers. This position requires a strong understanding of quality control processes and the ability to work with precision measurement tools. The Quality Technician performs overall quality inspection for machined parts to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards for the manufacture of Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform final inspections on machined aerospace components to ensure they meet all customer and industry specificationsUtilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify product dimensions and tolerancesReview and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentsDocument and report inspection results, including any non-conformances, ad collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issuesMaintain accurate and detailed inspection records for traceability and compliance purposesEnsure compliance with company quality standards, AS9100, and other relevant industry regulationsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and inspection processesConduct audits of production processes and finished products to ensure ongoing adherence to quality standardsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and equipmentStrong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawingsExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills, both written and verbalProficient in using computer software for documentation and reporting (e.g., MS Office, ERP systems)Our Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning a developmentResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health and wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreSee more at com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefitsWorkplace Options:This position is fully on-siteWhile on-site, you will be a part of the Cullman, AL facilityThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
