We are Dover Precision Components, #LifeAtDPCThis is a 1st shift positionUnder the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Support is responsible for assembling and moving partially finished, or finished products by performing the following duties. This list is illustrative only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.Responsibilities:Participate in all plant safety initiatives and abide by corporate and local policies.Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.Actively engage in lean manufacturing principles and techniques. This includes, but is not limited to, actively participating in kaizen events when requested, continuously seeking improvement in their work area, and cooperating to ensure Cook Compression remains competitive.Housekeeping and general organization of work area.Applies feedback and provides peer-to-peer feedback to improve performance. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Monitors own work to ensure quality.Verify print for required operationsDeburr parts as needed using supplied tools and/or equipment.Use drill press to drill and pin as required on printUse hand tools to make required parts such as springs and pinsCut clearance and assemble with mating parts per printUse saw to clearance plastic rings as neededLetter rings as requiredSplit tangent rings into three (3) segmentsCheck a sample of parts for light tightnessUse calipers to check clearance for proper end gapPrepare parts for next manufacturing operation, including fitting for light tightness and jointsTransport parts to next manufacturing operationRoll and flare piston ringsProperly report direct and indirect labor in ShopTrak.
