In addition, VDC Engineer I’s work under the direction of experienced VDC Engineerson each job site which provides you with opportunity to learn new industry skills every day. You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader.Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challengesCombines all building discipline models into 3D design software coordination modelReviews coordination models for constructability issues utilizing the software’s clash detection capabilitiesAssigns responsible party(s) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated modelsCommunicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentationUtilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverablesParticipates in Business Unit (BU) office and department activities including orientation programs, training sessions, and peer group meetingsSupports 1 VDC deliverable under supervisionEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field0-1 years of VDC Coordination experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong problem-solving skillsStrong time-management and analytical skillsKnowledge and functional use of BIM design softwareBasic understanding of construction documentationStrong interest in design concepts and integrated building components and systemsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentSalary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
