Job Description Insight Global is looking for an Instrumentation and Reliability Engineer to work in Borger, TX for one of our chemical manufacturing clients. This engineer will support two attached plants (Flash and Clinch) and collaborate closely with the electrical lead and mechanical lead on small capital projects such as installing recycle mash lines, head tanks, valves, and transmittersu2014without responsibility for DCS work. Each day begins with a conference call alongside operations and maintenance teams to review planned and emergency jobs, determine electrical or mechanical needs, and assist instrumentation techs with calibrations and procedure development. The role involves updating and verifying BOMs, using SAP to manage inventory and failure data, and modernizing legacy instrumentation systems including level transmitters, radars, gauges, pressure transmitters, and gas analyzers. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and planning repairs, preparing preventative maintenance plans, developing design specs, managing improvement projects, supporting other project managers, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and following site safety and change management procedures. Over time, the role will expand to include automation-driven process and productivity improvements. We count on you for: u2022 Work with the site Maintenance, Operations and Process Control teams, to troubleshoot and determine instrument repair or upgrade plans to support plant operations. u2022 Use SAP to search materials in inventory, review past failure data, and eliminate bad actors. u2022 Updates BOMs in SAP and assist in determining optimum MRO inventory u2022 Prepares or reviews Preventative Maintenance work plans for Instrument & Electrical Control systems u2022 Develop design specifications for new or existing equipment and instrumentation based upon specific manufacturing and process requirements. u2022 Manage assigned process control and electrical improvement projects including schedule, budget, testing requirements and start-up including required documentation and approvals. u2022 Provide the necessary Instrumentation and Controls support to other on-site Project Managers who are supporting the siteu2019s improvement plans. u2022 Work with vendors and procurement to understand availability, suitability and cost of alternative instrument solutions. u2022 Supervise and manage outside contractors (both design and field construction), as necessary, to complete project work. Contract work must follow all local safety requirements. u2022 Follow Site Management of Change procedures. Conduct appropriate safety reviews during the engineering definition, interlock and alarm design and testing phases as required. u2022 Interacting with the Site Operations team, this position, over time, will adopt an increased focus on the use of automation for process and productivity improvements.
