Job Description Advanced Practice Provider u2013 Geriatrics Rush University Medical Center Chicago, IL The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, is seeking a Geriatric Advanced Practice Provider to join their dynamic team. Position Overview The role provides comprehensive geriatric care across the care continuum. This is a full-time position offering a unique blend of clinical settings. The successful candidate will divide their time between: + Outpatient geriatric clinic services + Skilled nursing facility coverage Qualifications u00b7 _Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in Geriatrics are preferred._ u00b7 _APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification if doing Inpatient work._ u00b7 _APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification or Certification related to opioid training if placing orders for Schedule 4 Drugs_ The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards. Rush has over 400 APPs across the enterprise that provide comprehensive patient care each day autonomously and in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
