JOB DESCRIPTION Employment Type:Full timeShift:Evening ShiftDescription:The LTC Resident Assistant works collaboratively with nursing staff, residents, families, and other members of the healthcare team to provide direct care and supervision to adult and geriatric residents in a long-term care setting. This role supports residents in maintaining independence while ensuring safety and well-beingEssential ResponsibilitiesProvide direct care to adult and geriatric LTC residents.Supervise residents requiring assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), offering support as needed.Encourage and facilitate resident independence; ambulate residents who are able and report any difficulties or safety concerns.Perform Range of Motion (ROM) exercises as directed to maintain resident mobility.Use proper body mechanics and mechanical devices when moving, lifting, or transferring residents to ensure municate changes in residents’ conditions to appropriate healthcare team members.Follow instructions from the charge nurse or supervisor regarding interventions to prevent pressure ulcers.Adhere to universal precautions and infection control protocols.Promote resident satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and fostering a positive atmosphere.Uphold Mercy’s Mission ofReverence, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellencein all daily responsibilities.Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentRequired Licensure & CertificationsCertified Nurse Aide (minimum 75 hours of training)Dependent Abuse training (renewed every 3 years)CPR certification (obtained within 6 months of hire and renewed every 2 years)Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCommitment to Mercy’s Mission ofReverence, Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, Commitment to the Poor, Justice, and StewardshipStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and ability to follow care plans and safety protocolsOur Commitment Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
