What Research and Development Engineering contributes to Cardinal HealthEngineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.Research and Development Engineering is responsible for developing and implementing new products through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering and documentation practices.This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office) located in Hazelwood, MO. Responsibilities:Project and Technical supportParticipate in multi-departmental teams, to conduct product development and support maintenance of business activities.Manage assigned project tasks to established timelines and generate/maintain status updatesDHF Documentation and adherence to guidelines and requirements associated with FDA/QSR design controlsDevelopment of product design specifications to include drawings and performance specifications.Product Performance Verification/ValidationProduct Transfer from R&D to ManufacturingDevelop solutions to well defined technical problemsQualification:Education: BS in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Plastics Engineering or a related field or relevant work experience.Experience: 0-2 years of experience in medical product development or related field preferred Good communication and interpersonal skills are essentialAble to write well-constructed reports that support conclusions with facts.Works effectively in a diverse groupCapable of developing a schedule for smaller development tasksAbility to work in 3-D CAD systemsExperience using MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Basic knowledge of medical device design controls is preferredExperience with plastic product design/manufacturing is preferredWhat is expected of you and others at this levelApplies basic concepts, principles and technical capabilities to perform routine tasksWorks on projects of limited scope and complexityFollows established procedures to resolve readily identifiable technical problemsWorks under direct supervision and receives detailed instructionsAnticipated salary range:$65,400 - $84,150Bonus eligible:NoBenefits:Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.Medical, dental and vision coveragePaid time off planHealth savings account (HSA)401k savings planAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPayFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability coverageWork-Life resourcesPaid parental leaveHealthy lifestyle programsApplication window anticipated to close:10/31/2025 *if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.The salary range listed is an estimate.
