Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our team in McFarland, California. This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial processes and reports for multiple entities within the agriculture industry. Responsibilities: u2022 Implement and maintain robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. u2022 Oversee the operations of the accounting department, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, audits, and tax filings. u2022 Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to guarantee accuracy and efficiency in processing transactions. u2022 Manage cash reconciliation activities and ensure the timely reporting of all cash-related transactions. u2022 Lead the preparation and review of general ledger activities and financial statements for multiple entities. u2022 Ensure company financial records adhere to established policies and are audit-ready through regular account reconciliations. u2022 Handle tax compliance and reporting across all relevant areas. u2022 Provide strategic financial insights to support management decisions, including budget preparation, forecasting, and financial modeling. u2022 Develop and enhance financial dashboards and analytical tools to aid decision-making processes. u2022 Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to optimize accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in financial and non-financial data management Requirements u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; certification such as CPA is preferred. u2022 Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the agriculture industry. u2022 Proficient in financial reporting standards and regulations, with strong knowledge of industry-specific requirements. u2022 Expertise in accounting software and systems; familiarity with agriculture-focused tools is advantageous. u2022 Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data. u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams and departments. u2022 Proven leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and performance management. u2022 Demonstrated integrity and ability to lead by example in maintaining high standards of financial accuracy and compliance.
