Tank and Specialty Vessel Welder.Summary: Responsible for performing welding and grinding functions per job specifications. Selects equipment and plans layout and assembly of welding. Works closely and interacts with supervision. Works with precise limits and standards of accuracy.TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”Efficientlyproducequalitywelds.Performorassistwithfit‐upandpreparationofwelds.Performorassistwithpostweldcleanup,inspection,plywithallMatrix safetypoliciesandprograms. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Tank Welders must be able to pass the following weld tests.Carbon Steel Plate Test:FCAW (Flux Core) - 2G, 3G, 4GSMAW E6010 (5P) 3G, DownhillSMAW E7018 - 2G, 3G, 4GSpecialty Vessel Welders must be able to pass the following weld tests.9% Nickel Plate Test:FCAW (ENiCrMo3T1-4) - 2G, 3G, 4GSMAW (ENiCrMo-6) - 2G, 3G, 4GMust maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams.Mustbeabletoreadprintsandwritteninstructionsaswellasfollowverbal directions requiredtoperformdutiesandresponsibilities.Followweldingprocedurespecificationswhenwelding.Matrix Welders will receive a competitive compensation. Rate pay will be established upon successful completion of weld test.Qualifications:Tank Building experience, preferred.Must obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program and pass background screening.Must possess or be able to pass the Basic Safety Council Class CoursesMust complete the Matrix Service Basic Safety training and site-specific training.Must possess a valid TWIC card.Site may require fire retardant clothing.Maintain clean shaven and/or free of facial hair so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly. (Site Specific)Must be willing to frequently travel/relocate.Must be willing to work frequent overtime.Physical Requirements:Must be able to perform tasks at heights.Work will include pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment or tools.Heavyliftingwilloftenberequiredtoperformtasks.Mustbeabletokneel,squat,andclimb. Work will include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipment and/or trailers. Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to a minimum of 8-10 hours per dayMustbeabletoperformrequireddutiesforextendedperiodsoftime, ofteninsideconfinedspaces.Must be able to perform tasks in hot and cold temperatures.Illinois law requires pay information in job postings. The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay.
