HR Generalist

Description We are looking for a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team in Albany, New York, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will provide comprehensive HR support with a focus on employee relations, benefits, and compliance. You will play a key part in fostering effective communication and collaboration across teams while ensuring the smooth execution of HR processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Address escalated HR inquiries related to employee benefits, relations, and other issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution. u2022 Collaborate with team members to develop training materials, call scripts, and resources for HR service center support. u2022 Document all calls, inquiries, complaints, and correspondence thoroughly and accurately. u2022 Build strong, collaborative relationships with employees and management while offering guidance on progressive discipline, skill development, and policy interpretation. u2022 Assist in the creation and updating of policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to maintain compliance and clarity. u2022 Coordinate workforce communications and resolve employee complaints by partnering with management to achieve positive outcomes. u2022 Respond to unemployment claims, investigations, and appeals, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards. u2022 Conduct investigations and contribute to the preparation of responses for both internal and external inquiries. u2022 Manage job bidding, transfer, and promotion processes effectively to support organizational growth. u2022 Provide general HR support across various functions, including recruiting, training, leave management, and benefits administration. Requirements u2022 Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively. u2022 Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and effectively communicate with employees, management, and production teams. u2022 Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts and statistical analysis to practical situations. u2022 Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define issues, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. u2022 Sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with confidence. u2022 Familiarity with industry-standard computer programs and the capacity to learn and utilize new HRIS systems effectively. u2022 Experience in performance management, terminations, and HR administration. u2022 Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with a commitment to ongoing detail-oriented development in HR disciplines.
