Of the top digestive disease centers in the United States, DDI is the first of its kind to unite all specialists in gastroenterology and hepatology, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, hepato-pancreato-biliary and transplant surgery, and nutrition within one unique, fully integrated model of care - aimed atoptimizingthe patient experience.As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families, and visitors.You’llwork collaboratively with fellow staff to support medication management, patient monitoring, and a variety of administrative and clinical tasks.This position offersa unique opportunity to broaden their clinical experience by engaging in a wide range of responsibilities across patient care, compliance, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.The role provides hands-on exposure to multiplefacetsof healthcare, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to deepen their knowledge and skillsA caregiver in this position works either 7:30am to 4:00pm, or 8:00am to 4:30pm.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Assistwith performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance,identifyingmedication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performingtestsand documenting patient care.Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.Maintain equipment, medicalsuppliesand examination areas.Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, dataentryand patient registration.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate from an approved medical assistingprogramOR military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experienceBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross. If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire periodPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Medical Assisting certificationSuccessful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externshipOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Click the link and see howwe’rededicated to providing what matters most to you:Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $19.75Maximum hourly: $27.75The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
