As a Lead Operator you will perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant on an assigned shift. This position is fully qualified to perform the most complex functions and holds a Delaware Level IV wastewater operator license.Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and weu2019ll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the worldu2019s most challenging Operations Management projects, together.#omfs #ourjacobs #biaEssential Duties and Responsibilities:u2022 Establishes and maintains effective sample procedures of plant operations and effluentu2022 Diagnoses operating problems; directs and performs necessary corrective action during work shiftu2022 Makes process control adjustments, reads gauges and meters, records data, prepares necessary shift log reportsu2022 Prepares required reports and maintains complete record keeping proceduresu2022 Performs operations and maintenance activities including collecting samples and performing routine laboratory tests and analysesu2022 Directs, assigns and trains employeesu2022 Conducts weekly safety meetingsu2022 Makes operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnelu2022 Maintains discipline and ensures proper procedures are followedu2022 Determines proper chemical flow ratesu2022 Assigns operatorsu2019 monthly work scheduleu2022 Assigns replacement operators during emergency situationsu2022 Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of worku2022 Performs other duties as required u2022 State of Delaware Level IV Wastewater Operator License or ability to obtain through reciprocity with 6 months of hireu2022 Four (4) plus years of experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plantsu2022 Experience leading teams and assigning worku2022 Possess a valid driveru2019s license with no major infractionsIdeally, You'll Also Have:u2022 Six (6) years of experience operating water/wastewater treatment plantsu2022 Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices; principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analyses, effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes, principles of supervisionu2022 Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLCu2019s and SCADA systemsWorking Conditions:Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
