Production Manager Mapleton, IL 2 Available Positions - One will be 2nd shift, one will be 3rd shift. The Mapleton Foundry is one of the largest in the United States and home to the largest core making machine in the world! Working at the foundry is hard work that demands focus and safety, quality, and commitment to helping our customers build a better world. With over 1000 employees at the foundry, we are looking for strong leaders that can exercise sound judgment with mature decision-making capabilities, the ability to develop and train employees resulting in a cohesive team. Candidates should understand and demonstrate the principles of training, working safe, collaborating, and developing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality. Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards. Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance. Training new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Top Candidates May Have: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Metallurgical or foundry experience Skill Descriptors Quality Management: Level Working Knowledge Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization. Manufacturing Operations: Level Extensive Experience Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products. Manufacturing Safety: Level Extensive Experience Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform. necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment, and site. Production Training: Level Working Knowledge Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.
