The IT Intern will work directly with the Managers and members of the IT team as well as other stakeholders who work with technology around Select Quote. This internship will prepare the candidate for future work in the field of IT by equipping them to leverage a variety of tools and techniques to answer business questions.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in developing and testing new features for our web applicationsSupport the team by troubleshooting and debugging issues in existing codeContribute to frontend components using React under the guidance of senior developersLearn and apply best practices in C#.NET or Node.js to help build and maintain backend servicesGain practical experience with SQL by helping to write and test database queriesParticipate in team meetings, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies to understand the full development lifecycleCollaborate with developers and product managers to understand project requirementsHelp create and maintain technical documentation for new and existing featuresSkills/Abilities:Foundational knowledge of programming concepts, data structures, and algorithmsFamiliarity with web development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)Exposure to React, C#, or Node.js through coursework, personal projects, or prior internshipsA basic understanding of SQL and relational databasesEager to learn, ask questions, and accept constructive feedbackStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to understand the issue and provide workarounds and document issuesEducation and Experience:Currently enrolled in Junior or Senior year of college/universityDegree focused in Computer Science Information Systems Data Science Analytics Statistics Mathematics EngineeringRelevant previous internship experience or the completion of a project that demonstrates aptitude for programming and data analysisPhysical Requirements:Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.
