Are you a proactive legal professional with a passion for litigation support and risk management? Join our team as a Risk Litigation Paralegal, where you'll play a key role in supporting claims litigation.What You'll Do:Partner with Risk Counsel to support all aspects of claims litigation and potential litigationConduct legal research and respond to internal inquiriesCoordinate claims reporting and monitoring with excess carriersManage subpoena and discovery responses, and review standard draft motionsSupport a portfolio of complex liability claimsProvide litigation avoidance advice and assist with strategic counselingServe as the primary contact for CT Corporation service of process documentsWhat You Bring:Paralegal certfication or equivalent experienceStrong research, writing, and organizational skillsExperience in litigation support and claims managementAbility to work cross-functionally and manage multiple prioritiesThis position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO. Responsibilities include:Research, analyze and draft case and issue specific litigation informationManages resources in anticipation of discovery, trial and other litigation projects as requestedDrafts answers, discovery requests, responses to discovery, basic motions and similar pleadings, under the direction of an attorneyAnalyze, review and organize privileged documents and data from materials produced during discovery and prepare/coordinate document production and responses to discovery questionsPerform administrative duties including, coordinate litigation support functions, manage case docket, documents and filesAssist with preparation of federal and state administration filingsCollaborate with internal/external legal counsel and other corporate teams to ensure consistency with company policies, standards and contract termsConsult with attorneys in the Corporate Legal Department and recognize key issues requiring elevation to attorneysManage a broad range of litigation matters, exercising comfort and conversancy in a variety of litigation-type proceedingsConduct legal research and factual investigationMonitor, track and report on industry-related topics affecting the Company’s operations and IP needsInvestigation using Westlaw, REJIS, social media, etc.Conduct legal research and keep abreast of laws and regulations that apply to the Company’s operations and IP needsConduct Westlaw, Lexis and Pacer research and other research as neededMaintain agreements in electronic form and assist in enhancing contract lifecycle management, and similar, toolsMaintain and cultivate relationships with internal stakeholdersReview and analyze discovery testimony and medical record production on a limited basis upon requestAssist in the receipting, tracking, and management of Service of Process documentsSeek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training and goal settingMaintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctualityPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedIn addition to these job functions, candidates will also need to displayproficiencyin the following Competencies:CommunicationCustomer ServiceEthics and ValuesExecutingFlexibilityWorking with a TeamEqual Opportunity Employer/Disability/VeteransRequired:Paralegal or other relevant certificationTwo (2+) years of experience as a litigation paralegal with a private law firm or in-house legal departmentMust be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the futurePreferred:Insurance defense and coverage litigation experience
