Typical items painted include Transformers, Breakers and other utility substation equipment. Utilizes sprayers, brushes, rollers and flow coating as needed.This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. Occasionally work is performed near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes and airborne particulates, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock hazard, noise pollution, and vibration.Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protection equipment (PPE).Application of paint products in accordance with NASS / Customer and SSPC specifications & requirements.Follow and understand standard work, training guides, procedures and acceptance criteria to meet customer requirements.Able to use industrial paint equipment and various hand tools.Maintain and clean spray gun, flow coat machine, and related equipment.Report inconsistencies and/or defects in material, product or equipment.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you collaborate with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.Help the company meet its quality and safety objectives.Basic understanding of electrical safety protocols including clearances, approach distances, and LOTO.Required:State issue driver’s license with acceptable driving recordAble and willing to travel up to 75% with short notice availabilityAble to successfully complete a pre-employment as well as random drug screensClean criminal backgroundAble to work outdoors in all types of weatherAble to work at heights from a man lift and other elevated platforms and able to safely climb ladders and/or stairsAble to stoop, crouch, kneel and bend as well as walk, sit and stand for significant amounts of timePreferred:Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet)High School diploma or equivalentExperience working as a substation painterEffective oral and written skillsMinimum one year related work experienceAbility to work effectively as an individual contributor or in a team environmentNASS is an equal opportunity employer and gives consideration for employment to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, disability, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation), political affiliation, military service, national origin, age or any other characteristics protected by state or federal laws.Voltyx does not work with individual recruiters or third party recruiting agencies, and will not recognize claim to any unsolicited resumes or candidate information. #WEEMPOWERPOSSIBLE
