Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.The Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Automation (EMRA) Leader is responsible for the provision of required mechanical, electrical, and reliability engineering/maintenance service to the plant, within planned levels of cost and capital investment, minimizing downtime and improving efficiency. Additionally, the EMRA Leader is responsible for providing automation, instrumentation, and computer expertise to the plant, as well as managing the storeroom.Responsibilities:Manage the storeroom along with a team of engineers and technicians to plan, schedule, and maintain installed and new assets.Ensure activities are properly scoped and that machine center downtime is kept to a minimum.Ensure that engineering issues related to safety are resolved as quickly as possible.Provide equipment capable of operation in a safe and ergonomically correct matter.Manage projects to install, upgrade or modify plant assets or infrastructure.Work with local maintenance and corporate reliability departments to develop maintenance plans to attain world class uptime.Understand and document equipment reliability requirements.Lead the Manufacturing Unit in aspects of the process related to automation and controls.Improve the efficiency and reliability of automation systems.Provide leadership in the assessment, analysis, monitoring and measurement of recovery performanceEvaluate opportunities to invest capital funds.Ensure projects are delivered within cost parameters.Manage the repair and maintenance budget.Manage the capital project process and maintain a 5-year CapEx plan.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation or Mechanical Engineering5 years of experience in the field of engineering in a management or leadership roleEffective organizational skills and ability to work with different levels of the organizationExcellent leadership skills and interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficient in Computer SoftwareAbility to write specifications and facilitate bids from contractors and suppliersExcellent understanding of Rolling Theory and associated process fundamentalsFundamental knowledge of AutoCad, with the ability to make minor changes to drawingsAbility to trouble shoot and perform root-cause-analysis on equipment and process issues, related to rolling and process equipmentProficient in the fundamentals of reliability such that the position can help establish appropriate PM’s and PdM’s for process equipmentUnderstanding of advanced engineering and diagnostic tools such as Finite Element Analysis, vibrations analysis, lubrication analysis, FFT, etc.Excellent ability to manage all types of projects and administer the Capital Expenditure BudgetFundamental understanding of financial analysis associated with project justificationsPreferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation or Mechanical Engineering with a P.E. The facility built in 1965 applies coating to rolled aluminum beverage can sheet. The sheet is used to make aluminum beverage can ends (lids) for global soft drink beer and sparkling water brands.
