Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.The Novelis Guthrie team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Reliability Technologist/Technician for our new Recycle Center in Guthrie, KY. This role is responsible for improving manufacturing performance and equipment reliability by reducing machine downtime and unscheduled maintenance. The selected candidate will support various initiatives such as PdM, Calibration, and Precision Maintenance, through program implementation, PM execution, and training. A successful candidate will be self-directed and will have the ability to communicate with team members at all levels.The Reliability Technician will work a typical Monday-Friday, dayshift schedule. Some weekends and holidays may be required due to need to fulfil customer requirements and scheduled outages.Responsibilities:Support of the Guthrie PdM Program, as it pertains to lubrication, ultrasound, thermography, and vibration.Support of the Guthrie Calibration Program, as it pertains to Pressure Monitoring, Flow Monitoring, Temperature Monitoring, Chemical Monitoring, Load Monitoring, etc.Oversee and train Maintenance in Precision Maintenance practices.Provide technical expertise to implement cost effective preventive and predictive asset strategies to achieve best in class availability and reliability of the plant equipmentProvide support for development and routine review of Process FMEA and Control PlansProvide support for equipment related loss investigations to determine causal factors and provide technical recommendations and mitigation plans to prevent recurrenceCollaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and other identified collaborators to support fit for purpose training on Instrumentation processes and practicesSupport equipment related data capture for analysis and trending to establish equipment health, evaluation of risk, identifying bad actors, and opportunities for improvementPublish Key Performance Indicators to measure and improve Reliability performance of the equipment assetsAssess Equipment Criticalities and assist in developing Asset Strategies to achieve cost effective reliability, availability, and performance of the plant equipmentSupport Maintenance in the development, review, and optimization of forward-looking multi-year equipment replacement and overhaul plansUse communication skills to establish partnerships across to the site to achieve plant performance goalsBuild working relationships with other Regional and Global teams as well as other plants for benchmarking and protocol sharingWork a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend duty as necessary to manage facility performanceMinimum QualificationsHigh School DiplomaFive (5) or more years of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Operations; Aluminum industry preferredKnowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 17025 standardsExperience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projectsProficient in the fundamentals of Reliability such that the position can help establish appropriate PM’s and PdM’s for process equipmentKnowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and the ability to facilitate investigations and develop mitigation plans to address findingsKnowledge and/or experience with Process ControlPressure, Flow, and Temperature Monitoring equipmentChemical Monitoring equipment (pH, conductivity, etc.)Load Monitoring equipment (load cells)Burner Control (tuning, BCU, testing)Process Gauges (thickness, width, etc.)Experience with proactive Reliability tools and Root-Cause-Analysis methodologyExperience solving equipment issues and analyzing production loss and Reliability dataFundamental knowledge of AutoCad, with the ability to make minor changes to drawingsExperience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), SAP preferredExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Power PointPreferred QualificationsAssociate Degree in Technical fieldWhat We Offer:Novelis benefits say a lot about how we care for each other.
