Leidos is an employee-friendly company with a competitive benefit package, flexible working hours, and a collegial atmosphere.Primary ResponsibilitiesResearch and develop novel algorithms for remote sensing applicationsPrototype and test algorithms in high-level languages such as Matlab or PythonDevise efficient software implementations in C programming languageConduct algorithm performance testing and analysisDocument results and brief customers and stakeholdersBasic QualificationsBS degree in physics, engineering, math or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Masters with 2+years of relevant experience, or Doctoral degree if less than 2 years of experience5+ years of experience in the following (may include mixture of coursework/hands-on experience of the following):At least 1 high-level programming language, such as Matlab or PythonSignal processing, including Fourier transforms, filtering, and estimationUnderstanding of physics with ability and eagerness to learn new conceptsComfortable with Linux cluster computing environmentsStrong understanding of probability, statistics, linear algebra, and complex variablesFamiliarity with C coding and software engineering best practices or strong willingness to learnMust be a U.S. CitizenActive Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.Required on-site full-time work in San Diego, CABonus QualificationsProficiency with at least one sensing modalityExperience with Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), Optics, or RadarProficiency with C coding and software engineering best practicesDeep understanding of optimal detection and estimationDeep understanding of array processing, beamforming, including concepts and implementationExperience architecting algorithms and hardware for maximal efficiencyExperience with real-time processing with edge and cloud componentsExperience integrating Machine Learning with signal processingExperience with systems engineeringExposure or strong interest in learning embedded programmingPlease note, the salary below is a general guideline range.
