Bookkeeper

Description Our client is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team in Humble, Texas. This contract to hire position offers the opportunity to manage key financial processes and contribute to the smooth operation of the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and financial management to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including handling invoices, purchase orders, discounts, and vendor/customer account setups. u2022 Monitor bank transactions, reconcile accounts, and manage credit card payments and intercompany financial activities. u2022 Investigate and resolve discrepancies in vendor invoices, and issue customer credit notes as needed. u2022 Conduct inventory reconciliations, generate reports, and verify the accuracy of cost data. u2022 Post journal entries using general ledger coding and maintain a comprehensive fixed asset list. u2022 Prepare and file sales tax returns, issue 1099 forms, and assist with human resources-related tasks. u2022 Order office supplies and provide support for various administrative functions to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements u2022 Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper. u2022 Solid understanding of accounting principles and industry-standard practices. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities. u2022 Effective organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. u2022 Capability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently. u2022 Familiarity with sales tax filings, 1099 reporting, and fixed asset management. u2022 Associate or bacheloru2019s degree in a related field is preferred but not required. The position is onsite, Monday-Friday from 8-5.
