We want your knowledge and expertise Job Summary and Qualifications The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues. What you will do in this role: + You will conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patientu2019s speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation. You will administer objective tests to assess patientu2019s communication assets and liabilities. + You will structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities. + You will evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress. + You will document progress in patientu2019s chart. You will complete notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication. + You will consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients. What qualifications you will need: + Masters Degree required + California State Board licensure to practice Speech Therapy required + Minimum of 1 year experience required . + Must have completed the Clinical Fellowship Year/Required Professional Experience (CFY/RPE) required + BLS Certification required Good Samaritan Hospital ( has been serving Silicon Valley since 1965, giving patient's access to highly-trained physicians and advanced technology.
