Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Pauma Valley, California. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical abilities and a solid background in accounting. The role will involve managing journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end projects while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and post accurate journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded properly. u2022 Perform detailed account reconciliations by extracting and analyzing data from accounting software and Excel. u2022 Manage prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting. u2022 Utilize Sage Intacct and Amplifund systems to maintain and update financial records. u2022 Review and reclassify incorrectly coded transactions to ensure proper accounting practices. u2022 Conduct thorough analyses of financial data using advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables. u2022 Support month-end closing activities, including preparing reports and handling ad hoc projects. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes. u2022 Assist in auditing and compliance tasks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s or Associate's degree in accounting or a related field is required. u2022 Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience in a corporate environment, demonstrating attention to detail. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables. u2022 Working knowledge of accounting systems such as Sage Intacct and Amplifund. u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. u2022 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively. u2022 Familiarity with journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and invoice coding. u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members.
