General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.With limited direction, this position exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives for the review, research, design, development, and/or solution to advanced technical engineering problems. The role heavily emphasizes cybersecurity, information assurance (IA), networking, and adherence to Department of Defense (DoD) standards. Candidates with Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualifications or equivalent certifications are preferred. Communicates with engineering professionals, solution users, and management throughout the solution development cycle, represents the company as a prime technical contact on contracts and/or projects, interacts with senior external personnel on technical matters requiring coordination between the organizations, and participates in the development of new or expansion of existing business.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Function in an advisory or project leadership role to provide direction to experienced professional staff in implementing cybersecurity measures across all phases of system development and deployment. Ensure compliance with DoD IA policies, including the integration of security controls, validation procedures, and risk management frameworks (RMF). Develop and maintain secure network architectures, including routers, switches, firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). Formulate long-term plans for the development, documentation, and deployment of solutions that meet cybersecurity compliance, reporting, and operational standards. Evaluate system configurations to ensure adherence to Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and DoD cybersecurity policies. Communicate with engineering professionals, solution users, and management throughout the solution development cycle, representing the organization as a prime technical contact for contracts and/or projects. Ensure appropriate documentation, testing, maintenance, and engineering updates are completed for all systems. Plans for future applications of solutions based on new developments in engineering technology. Participates in or may lead the development of new or expansion of existing business opportunities. Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Performs other duties as assigned.
