Description Our client, a well-established and respected law firm that specializes in landlord / tenant law, is seeking attorneys with 1 to 10 years of experience in landlord-tenant law to join our growing practice. Open to newly-admitted attorneys. Must be comfortable regularly attending housing court in the 5 boroughs. Role: Associate Attorney Location: Rockville Centre, NY (Long Island) Schedule: On-Site with flexibility Salary: $100K-$190K (Wide range DOE) Responsibilities: + Provide legal advice to clients on landlord-tenant issues, including lease agreements, evictions, and tenant rights. + Go to housing court 4 to 5 times a week in 1 of the 5 boroughs. + Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations (almost exclusively landlords) + Draft and review legal documents, including leases, eviction notices, and settlement agreements. + Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. + Assist in educating clients about their rights and responsibilities under landlord-tenant law. Requirements u2022 A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active licensure to practice law in New York State. u2022 Prefer candidates with housing experience but open to newly admitted attorneys u2022 Strong understanding of housing court procedures and landlord-tenant regulations. u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client interactions and court advocacy. u2022 Proficiency in legal software, including case management and document management tools. u2022 Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. u2022 Proven negotiation and mediation skills to resolve disputes effectively. u2022 Commitment to providing client-focused legal services with integrity and professionalism.
