Senior Design Engineer

Sr. Design Engineer Description The primary purpose of this position, as a Sr. Designer is to support product development and product improvement efforts. This includes the creation or modifications of designs and documentation used to adequately describe product requirements and justification of changes. Duties & Responsibilities: u2022 Review and investigate the full spectrum of material made available and discuss with project engineer and technicians. u2022 Establish limiting parameters which will shape the approach to solving configuration requirement. u2022 Create through layouts and detail drawings all the necessary configurations to build the subject model, providing the most economical manufacturing processes. u2022 Interpret and guide model shop in producing accurate, feasible parts to be assembled into a functioning sellable product. u2022 Create and maintain 3D CAD models utilizing established industry standards and best practices. u2022 Create and maintain engineering drawings utilizing established industry standards u2013 ASME/ANSI, ensuring that design intent is captured. u2022 Perform tolerance stack u2013 up analysis in accordance with manufacturing capabilities ensuring fit and functionality of assemblies. u2022 Apply part tolerances in accordance with manufacturing capabilities and industry/ best practices. u2022 Coordinate the release of drawing packages in support of product design projects. u2022 Assure Part Number and Parts list accuracy. u2022 Perform weight and center of gravity calculations. u2022 Able to work independently with limited instruction and also be a collaborative team member to development and problem-solving design activity Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, NY.
