Telephone Service Technician

Job Description ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES Major Responsibilities - Under general supervision, maintain, install, inspect, test, move, alter, and repair telephone communications systems, low voltage electronic systems and related equipment including Citytime handscanners and associated cable and wiring. - Serve as a technical resource person in the diagnosis and correction of computer, telephone and peripheral hardware problems, including scanners and printers. - Conduct periodic inspections to determine proper utilization of Agency Desktop communications equipment to ensure complete compliance with work orders and proper installation. - Respond in a timely manner to user concerns and problems. - Provide IT related support at various sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City. - Observe and control the operation of computer and peripheral equipment. Check indicators and determine proper functioning of equipment, ensuring timely and courteous service. - Work with vendors to perform troubleshooting.
