Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will oversee essential accounting functions such as journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper documentation. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between financial records and statements. u2022 Handle accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing and payment scheduling. u2022 Reconcile daily charges to ensure proper allocation and accuracy. u2022 Support corporate tax-related activities, including preparation and filing. u2022 Calculate and manage sales tax obligations in compliance with local regulations. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly recorded. u2022 Collaborate with departments to provide financial insights and resolve discrepancies. u2022 Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and related documentation. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax preparation. u2022 Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Familiarity with corporate tax return processes and compliance standards. u2022 Ability to perform accurate reconciliations and financial analyses. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software and tools. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Strong communication skills for collaboration across teams. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
