Our family operated company provides the attention and flexibility that only a regional carrier can, backed by excellence in service and powerful logistical tools.We are seeking a Full Time Working Dock Supervisor at our Grand Island, NE terminal.**Class A or Class B CDL is REQUIRED**Pay: is $60,000/YearSchedule: Monday-Friday, 11:00am - 9:00pmPOSITION SUMMARY:To organize the dock, provide paperwork for dockworkers, and oversee the loads to ensure the trailers are being loaded correctly. Must be forklift certified and expected to work the floor.Also have the ability to flex into any shift to cover any supervisor's absence or vacation time.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Provide training, supervision, feedback, and discipline for hourly Operations team membersRoute City operationManage the daily performance of the City Pickup and Delivery Operation for optimal safety, performance, on-time Service, cost control, and claims preventionEnsure On-time Delivery service in accordance with the organizational goals by ensuring pick-ups and deliveries are made timely, efficiently, and returns are kept to a minimumMonitor Line Haul operationMonitor Dock performance and efficiency and adjust manpower as neededSolve problems regarding lost and missing freightCommunicate efficiently with other departments to ensure a successful operationWork in a safe and professional manner so as to reduce personal risks and risk to fellow employeesReport all facility problems to the Facility Maintenance DepartmentComply with federal, state, and company regulationsProcess all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the jobWork in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all timesPerform other duties as neededMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:A minimum age of 18High School completion or equivalentValid Driver LicenseValid Class A or Class B CDLSupervisory experience requiredAbility to work any shiftMust have the knowledge and ability to perform all Operations jobs in the Terminal including Dock, Dispatch, Warehouse, and RoutingExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong leadership skillsDetail-oriented, organizedMust meet all physical requirementsMust have certification in forklift safety and hazardous material handlingAbility to multi-task and react to change productivelyExcellent attendanceWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitorLifting various types of materials will be required: cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etcCommon material handling tools will be used: forklifts, carts, dollies, banding machines, shrink wrap tubes, pallet jacks, and tow motorsStanding, walking, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending at the waist, reaching, and lifting both above and below waist level will be requiredMust be physically capable of operating a forklift, pallet jack, load lock and two-wheel handcartWill be required to lift up, set down, slide or move weight unassisted that could exceed 80 poundsMust be able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 100+ lbs. on an infrequent basisMust be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of timeMust have the ability to safely enter and exit trailers, vans, flatbeds, forklifts and tractorsMust have the ability to work around and operate motorized equipmentMust be able to perform the essential functions of the job as specified in the job descriptionMay be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures and dusty conditions in the dock environment; must be able to perform essential functions in these conditionsDohrn Transfer Company, LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
