Job Description

The Epic Application Analyst Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, coordination and supervision of the Epic Application Analyst-Access & Revenue Cycle Applications team, processes, and functions, as well as managing the day-to-day operational activities of the Epic Application Analyst team in support of the enterprise. This includes anticipating, recognizing and resolving issues; overseeing team processes and assessing for areas of opportunity to improve effectiveness and efficiency; helping to build skills of the team; and coordinating efforts within the Analyst team and integrated Epic third party vendors as needed. Epic Application Analyst Supervisor will also perform other duties as assigned.Essential Duties:• Directly supervise staff, including overseeing and participating in team processes, assigning, and prioritizing work, setting employee goals, reviewing team performance metrics and completing performance reviews.• Analyze problems related to systems and applications and develop solution-focused recommendations.• Perform vendor management and oversight as needed.• Utilize standardized department tools/software systems to plan task/projects and monitor progress toward milestones and deadlines, reassigning resources when necessary to meet organizational objectives. • Perform analysis of new and existing software systems and applications. • Collaborate with Project Management Office (PMO) staff and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) during project planning.• Ensure all new application developments or upgrades are communicated to the training team, collaborating on training plans when necessary.• Manage advanced support for integrated Epic third party vendor and applications, coordinating efforts with User Support and other IT staff as needed. • Can work outside of standard business hours.People Management/Department Management/BusinessUnitManagement:• Directly supervise staff, including overseeing and participating in team processes, assigning, and prioritizing work, setting employee goals, reviewing team performance metrics, and completing performance reviews.• Manage implementation of new Epic related initiatives and ensure coordination of strategy and initiatives.• Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations.• Builds and maintains a superior departmental support team serving all employees in a manner that is consistent with the company’s Core Beliefs.• Leads complex organizational change efforts.• Selects personnel for hire and promotion; takes appropriate actions regarding counseling, disciplinary actions, demotion, and termination.• Directs, supports, and coaches direct reports.• Responds proactively to employee needs and concerns.• Develops “experts” and “expertise” throughout the department and seeks employee input.• Facilitates consensus among divergent groups.• Minimizes staff turnover.• Acknowledges and rewards employees’ strengths and accomplishments.• Evaluates assigned staff performance and competency, providing direct feedback.• Assesses learning needs, develops competency plans and provides opportunities for learning.MINIMUM EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Clinical Science, Computer Science OR high school diploma and 4 years of analyst experience with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experienceMINIMUM EXPERIENCE:• 2 years of supervisory experience. Successful completion of Central Health’s Emerging Leader Program (for internal candidates only) may substitute up to 2 years of supervisory experience.• 3 years of experience in Healthcare or Health IT• 3 years of Electronic Health Record System experience• 4 years of experience with systems and application analysis• FQHC and/or Healthcare background 4 years of experience with systems and applications analysisREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:Epic certification/accreditation required within 6 months of hire.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: • 4 years of experience with industry standard EMR systems. Experience working with healthcare-related business, finance, operations and clinical systems.• Experience working on a team utilizing Agile, Waterfall, or Six Sigma methodologies• Experience with software development life cycle including writing requirements, performing QA, and doing relevant development/template work. • Experience supporting an Electronic Health Record System.• Clinical experience• Knowledge of Medical terminology• Epic experience
