Paint Lead (West Bend) 1st Shift

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the Paint Lead is primarily responsible for assisting the Supervisor in overseeing the Paint Line(s). This person may perform all aspects of the Powder / Wet Paint Line, as well as give instruction to the Technicians assigned to the lines. This role is responsible for acting as a good role model for the rest of the development and for keeping the department organized and clean.Paint Technician Lead will assist the Supervisor in directing and assisting in the work activitiesof Paint Line Technicians. Work with thePaint Technicians to ensure the parts are racked correctly and schedule is being followed and on-time. Will coordinate orders with material handling and work with Production Control to assure orders are ready for assembly. Provide input on schedule to ensure maximum efficiency and on time delivery is met.Keep informed of any changes and new procedures throughout the day to stay on schedule. Communicate information, assisting in resolving problems and support continuous improvement initiatives.Monitor all equipment, pre-treatment, conveyors, wastewater treatment, cure ovens and assist powder room coordinator with trouble shooting application equipment.Monitor all supplies within the department. Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task.Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working within a highly technical environment.Strong basic math skills.Previous experience working within a powder paint department.Previous forklift experience.Exposure to a Lean manufacturing environment.General understanding of Metric and Standard systems.Associates degree in related technical field preferred. Prior lead experience, preferably in a painting process department or a powder coat paint department.Microsoft Office skills.
