We support flexible working arrangements wherever possible., Position SummaryAs a Pilot Plant Technician you will execute small scale pilot production to support Research ,Development product design, improvements and quality trials in battery innovation developing strong relationships with cross-functional partners and have experience with standard work procedures and chemical safety in a lab setting. The right candidate is a self-starter who works well with their hands, develops a deep understanding of the equipment and processes, and can collaborate with a team of scientists and peers to deliver consistent products for this fast-paced business.ResponsibilitiesPractices proper safety procedures. Recognize, report and document unsafe acts or conditionsPerforms and executes routine and non-routine small scale production trialsUses appropriate materials and equipment and understands their principles of use or operationReceives training in order to independently operate and maintain basic equipment in assigned areaTroubleshoots issues with trials and work cross functionally with internal team to resolve challengesCoordinates work with coworkers and interfaces with other R,D product groups, equipment, and service groups to acquire the information and services necessary to execute assigned trials and tasksUses machines and equipment to process chemicals and raw materials into finished productsCollects, records and transcribes routine and non-routine data in multiple software databasesProvides real time results and feedback to customersMaintains housekeeping standards and 5S standardsPerforms LOTO (lock out tag out) on applicable equipment and maintain authorization with annual trainingParticipates in department continuous improvement activitiesServes as an ad hoc team member as requiredUnderstands basic principles of products and/or devices in assigned areaTrains and instructs others to perform routine and non-routine tasksCreates training documentationCreates safety documentationMay also perform additional duties as assigned
