Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Santa Ana, California. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a manufacturing environment and is passionate about analyzing financial data to drive operational efficiency. The role requires a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting, with an emphasis on collaboration across departments. Responsibilities: u2022 Evaluate and analyze manufacturing variances, including usage, labor efficiency, and scrap, to pinpoint actionable insights for leadership. u2022 Track and assess cost drivers to identify trends and opportunities for cost optimization. u2022 Support the monthly close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling inventory accounts, and analyzing operational data using tools such as Excel and Power BI. u2022 Update and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead associated with manufactured and purchased products. u2022 Conduct monthly inventory valuations and ensure accurate reconciliation of inventory accounts within Dynamics 365. u2022 Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to assess the financial impact of new products, process changes, and capital investments. u2022 Perform physical and cycle counts periodically and enforce compliance with inventory control standards. u2022 Assist with the annual standard cost roll and budgeting processes to ensure accurate financial planning. u2022 Travel occasionally to coordinate with production facilities and oversee operational requirements. u2022 Develop and implement cost accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and industry standards. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 A minimum of 3u20135 years of experience in cost accounting, with a focus on manufacturing environments. u2022 Expertise in standard costing, inventory accounting, and analyzing cost variances. u2022 Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Dynamics 365. u2022 Knowledge of medical device manufacturing and regulatory compliance is advantageous. u2022 Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across different teams. u2022 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently. u2022 Fluency in Spanish is considered a bonus.
