Accountant/Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a dedicated Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team in Latham, New York. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting who is eager to grow their career within the construction and real estate industry. The role offers an opportunity to work with a collaborative team while managing essential financial operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the complete accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions. u2022 Perform account reconciliations and monitor financial activities to maintain accuracy. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger, job costing records, and intercompany accounting processes. u2022 Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance and precision. u2022 Prepare financial reports and contribute to budgeting efforts to support business goals. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data aligns with organizational objectives. u2022 Utilize accounting software to streamline processes and improve efficiency. u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all financial operations. u2022 Provide support in transitioning to advanced roles, such as Staff Accountant, as opportunities arise. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. u2022 Familiarity with Sage/Timberline software is highly desirable. u2022 Strong understanding of general ledger, job costing, and intercompany accounting practices. u2022 Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively. u2022 Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team-oriented environment. u2022 Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. u2022 Previous experience in construction or real estate accounting is advantageous. u2022 Demonstrated interest in advancing to a Staff Accountant position.
