Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) is recruiting for Mental Health Therapy Aides. Evening and overnight shift is available. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.As a Mental Health Therapy Aide at CDPC, you will provide direct care services and support to individuals diagnosed with mental illness.Duties will include:u2022 Assisting individuals with personal care tasks such as hygiene, grooming, nutrition, and daily living.u2022 Coordinating and promoting social activities, including dances, picnics, shopping visits, cultural and athletic events, and after-school/weekend activities.u2022 Accompanying and/or transporting individuals to medical appointments as necessary.u2022 Collaborating with individuals and human service providers to advocate for and assist in meeting their employment, housing, and educational needs.u2022 Observing individuals' responses to treatment and reporting observations verbally or in writing.u2022 Attending treatment team meetings, sharing observations on progress, and suggesting alternative programs to revise treatment plans.u2022 Assisting in crisis and emergency situations to protect the welfare of individuals, staff, and others. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside State Service can be considered for hire under the H0iring for Emergency Limited Placement u2013 Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a High School or High School Equivalency Diploma.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
