This position plays a vital role in educating entry-level nursing support caregivers by ensuring that they provide safe, high-quality patient care. By serving entry-level nursing support caregivers, NPDSs in this role can positivelyimpactcaregiver's career trajectory within Cleveland Clinic and patient outcomes. Within this role, there are many opportunities for NPDS Lead and Education Manager roles. There are also many opportunities to develop as an educator, particularly with the Essentials Program for Health Professions Educators.This is a PRN position. A caregiver in this positionworksvariable shifts.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Design, direct, implement,andevaluateeducational offerings based on knowledge, skills and learning levels of nursing staff.Identifylearningneeds and desires of nursing personnel.Developandutilizeappropriate evaluationsystems todeterminethe effectiveness of educational activities.Consult with individuals within the Nursing Institute and Ambulatory Nursing,CCFand the communityregardingprofessional nursingpracticeand roles.Assistin the development of department specific orientation and competencies.Assistsdepartments in orientation of staff.Developandmaintaina cataloging system for tracking and retrieval of all available teaching-learning resources.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Bachelor's degree in nursingMaster'sdegree in nursingwith a non-nursingBachelor'sdegree is acceptableCurrent state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)Twoyearsrecent nursing experience required withdemonstratedclinicalexpertiseto include clinical nursing experience, preceptor, BCLS orACLSinstructorDemonstrated knowledge of educationmethodologysuch as needs assessment, curriculum development, instructionaldesign,and principles of adult learningPresentation skillsSomeone who has worked with unlicensed caregivers inpreviousrole(s)Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Master's DegreeOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Click the link and see howwe’rededicated to providing what matters most to you:Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $45.00Maximum hourly: $45.00The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
