Project Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Concord, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accuracy in cost tracking, reporting, and data management. This role requires someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Track and manage project costs, ensuring all expenses align with budgets and forecasts. u2022 Process and oversee change orders while maintaining accurate financial documentation. u2022 Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and General Contractors to streamline financial processes. u2022 Utilize construction-specific software to monitor and report on project financials. u2022 Prepare work-in-progress (WIP) reports to provide insights into project performance. u2022 Perform detailed data analysis using intermediate Excel skills, including tracking and manipulating financial data. u2022 Support the team by identifying areas to improve accounting procedures and enhance operational efficiency. u2022 Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies throughout all project phases. u2022 Maintain clear and organized records for audits and internal reviews. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in project accounting, particularly within construction projects. u2022 Strong knowledge of job costing and handling change orders. u2022 Proficiency in construction accounting software u2022 Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including data tracking and reporting. u2022 Familiarity with work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and financial analysis. u2022 Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
