Eatonu2019s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer. This position will be a part of Eaton's Aerospace group, specifically supporting the Irvine California facility. This is a full time Monday - Friday role onsite, with travel up to 25% annually to local suppliers. The Irvine facility has approximately 150 employees and is the Headquarters for Eaton Aerospace. This site makes the parts that bring jet fuel to and through thousands of aircraft every day. The expected annual salary range for this role is $95737.5 - $140415.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What youu2019ll do: The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for driving supplier improvement in the areas of Quality, Delivery and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. The improvements must be consistent with Eaton Aerospace requirements. In this function you will: u2022 Oversees and participates in the development and initiation of inspection, testing and evaluation techniques for incoming goods. u2022 Evaluates inspection techniques and recommends changes. u2022 Works with Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and other departments to define quality standards and procedures. u2022 Reviews and analyzes inspection test results and oversees the disposition of nonconforming items with - affected suppliers and companies. u2022 Analyzes supplier performance both in-house on supplier premises as required. u2022 Applies standard statistical techniques to analyze and evaluate studies. u2022 Team with suppliers to define and document Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, AIAG Process Control Plans and Inspection plans. u2022 Negotiates with suppliers to find equitable solutions to problems identified. u2022 Visits supplier locations to evaluate quality standards and processes. u2022 Answers technical questions regarding commodity quality, long-term feasibility or quality certifications. u2022 Oversees and participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality system surveys. u2022 Develops, implements, and oversees the administration of special programs to recognize and to ensure the use of suppliers who maintain established standards of quality, reliability, and price. u2022 Controlling nonconforming material in accordance with Eaton procedures. u2022 Flowing down of external/internal quality requirements to suppliers. u2022 Supporting and leading continuous improvement initiatives. u2022 Supporting internal audit requirements in accordance with Eaton procedures. u2022 Apply engineering and manufacturing technical knowledge to help improve supplier activities that can help Eatonu2019s quality, delivery and cost performance objectives u2022 Assumes lead Quality role in supporting Supplier Development and on-boarding activities u2022 Responsible for all supplier key metric maintenance and reporting u2022 Achieving objectives as detailed by Quality Management. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution. u2022 Minimum of 3 years Supplier Quality Engineering experience u2022 Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Irvine, CA. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement. u2022 This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications: u2022 Experience with Aerospace suppliers. u2022 Experience with complex machining and casting suppliers. u2022 Experience with Special processes suppliers (Heat Treating, Plating, Painting). u2022 Familiar with major Aerospace primes Quality System, as well as working knowledge of AS9100. Working knowledge of Six Sigma tools. Position Criteria: u2022 Significant experience with Supplier Performance Management, Supplier Correction Actions and Nonconforming Material Dispositions, MRB. u2022 Experience with Dock-to-Stock and Skip-lot Programs u2022 Experience with Supplier Improvement Programs, Supplier Quality Plans u2022 Willingness to travel locally and nationally to supplier sites u2022 Interaction with suppliers, customers, and internal personnel at all levels of the organization. #LI-CD1 We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
