Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an IT Technician II. The right candidate will with little supervision, support, implement, maintain, debug, document, and test complex, multi-tier application environments in production and those under development. The IT Technician II must also have the ability to troubleshoot advanced application, network, directory services, and other computer-related issues with little or no supervision. Additionally, the IT Technician II will provide support to software development, project management and business analysts, while maintaining various development and test application environments. The technician may also assist help desk technicians, server engineers, and network administrators with escalated operations issues, is involved in the coordination and execution of infrastructure and software related upgrades and works closely with Operations to ensure that production application environments function optimally. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. u00b7 MS SQL Database Administration u00b7 MS IIS Administration u00b7 Windows Active Directory Administration u00b7 Windows Server Administration u00b7 Strong understanding of network related concepts (subnetting, VIP, load balancing, DNS, etc.) u00b7 Create and maintain comprehensive environment build documentation u00b7 Demonstrated scripting experience: PowerShell, CLI, and other scripting tools/utilities u00b7 Technical issue reporting and tracking u00b7 Identifies and initiates resolutions for issues associated with hardware and software u00b7 Creates and maintains application environments in production, testing, and in development u00b7 Able to identify, propose, and initiate resolutions in application, network, and hardware layers u00b7 Author plans for testing and implementation of applications u00b7 Willingness to share knowledge u00b7 Involved in software evaluation, testing, and deployment u00b7 Comfortable interfacing with peers of various technical backgrounds u00b7 Maintain expertise with changing technology u00b7 Provides third level support to the Help Desk and server admin teams u00b7 Have knowledge and ability to troubleshoot mission critical apps when called upon with limited visibility u00b7 Occasional weeknight and weekend work may be required Required Qualifications u00b7 Undergraduate degree or minor in Computer Science and/or significant technical experience u00b7 Microsoft SQL Database Administration u00b7 Strong Windows Operating System Knowledge (Windows 10 , Server 2012-2019 ) u00b7 Demonstrated support of thin client software, especially MS RDP/Terminal services or Citrix u00b7 Experience supporting Active Directory u00b7 Support of Windows Internet Information Services (IIS) u00b7 6 years supporting applications in a Windows PC/LAN/WAN environment u00b7 Enterprise Networking experience supporting, or knowledge of, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP u00b7 Previous experience with quality assurance testing or demonstrated understanding of software testing methodology u00b7 Automation experience including PowerShell scripting, batch files, and/or other scripting utilities u00b7 Experience with technical documentation of complex application environments u00b7 Experience working in a software development environment u00b7 Must be detail oriented with good analytical and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications u00b7 Industry standard certifications desirable (ex: MCSEMCITP, MCDBA, CCNA, CCA, MCP, etc Come join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company We are growing fast and are looking for enthusiastic attitudes and team players to join our success.
